This is a compilation about the obscene profits reaped by the fossil fuel industry and the indefensible government subsidies ($1 TRILLION per year!) -- tax breaks, incentives, loopholes -- it benefits from / exploits.

Given the clear, present, accelerating global impacts of the climate crisis; the risk of irreversible, runaway climate breakdown / disruption / destabilization within the lives of today's children; and the EMERGENCY speed with which the world must transform to a post-carbon economy in order to preserve the safe, fragile climate balance that organized civilization depends on...

the perversity of 'business as usual' is a BETRAYAL of life and threat to our survival RIGHT NOW.

Bottom line

Subsidies must be redirected to phase out our current suicidal / ecocidal / biocidal / pro-genocidal (future generations), fossil fuel-based / addicted, greenhouse gas-intensive global economy and stimulate one grounded in clean, ZERO carbon, everlasting (wind, solar, geothermal, tidal) energy and conservation AS SOON AND AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.
