Wolves in Sheep's Clothing: Help Sustain ecoSanity

In the final week of this critical election, will you help us to achieve our modest goal of

10 new, monthly sustainers in 7 days?

Yup, 10. That's all. And if by chance we could surpass this number, we'd be elated!

But here's the catch:

Under Canadian law, environmental advocacy and activism are not recognized within charitable status guidelines.

Were ecoSanity to become a charity, the strict rules of operation would require us to mute our urgent voice and peaceful protest activity.

As a result, in order to maintain our total independence and essential freedom of political expression, we are unable to issue tax receipts.

Bit-uv-a show stopper, hunh? So why should you bother to read another word?

Because the Harper-led Conservative regime of wolves in sheep's clothing has done everything in its power to cripple advocates of social, environmental and climate justice in Canada,
not to mention democracy itself.

And because our all-too-uncommon focus -- the climate crisis, rarely mentioned in the campaign --
is not just a cause.  It is a clear, present, accelerating, EMERGENCY threat to global food and water supply, international security, and the very survival of billions of people and species RIGHT NOW.

ecoSanity is as bare bones as it gets.

For over 4 years, we have risked and sacrificed to communicate the hard truth about the greatest crime against humanity, most life and most future life ever.

Help make our goal of 10 new, monthly sustainers by election night, Monday, May 2nd, a reality so we can continue our work to mobilize and advocate in defense of a livable world for every one and every thing each of us needs and loves.

Thank you!  Glenn MacIntosh, Founder: ecoSanity.org.

Canadian Election 2011: 7 Charges Against the Stephen Harper-Led Conservative Regime

Below is a brief attempt to compile and categorize the key reasons why the Stephen Harper-led Conservative Government of Canada must be defeated in the 2011 federal election. Please let us know
if we've missed some big strokes or if you spot inaccuracies. And feel free to forward any important/ additional/better links or resources that you think should be included.  Thank you!

1. Reckless disregard for/destruction of the Environment and (what should be considered) criminal inaction, collusion and obstruction of int'l negotiations to confront the climate crisis

Our shared atmosphere is on an accelerating course to reach a state of potentially unsurvivable, runaway climate extremes during the lives of today's children.

Only emergency international action at emergency (war time) speed *may be* proportional enough to confront the scale, scope and urgency of what is already the greatest crime against humanity, most life and most future life ever (Climate Change Human Impact Report).

Meanwhile, the Harper-led Conservative Government of Canada has cut funds for climate research, muzzled scientists, ignored scientific studies that show environmental damage from the tars sands, and obstructed international climate negotiations in favour of corporate tax cuts, tar sands subsidies, war jets and prisons.
