Our thanks to all who attended the first installment of our all-new workshop in Toronto on March 13th!
Your spectacular support/feedback has inspired us to offer 2 versions:
1) An afternoon or evening-long (4 hr), non-hands, but interactive seminar/presentation;
2) A full day (morning & afternoon) that will emphasize hands on cameras and materials.

Ever been to an environmental, social justice or other event that you thought could have been better, more visual, or just plain sucked? Poor attendance; Crowd sprinkled and distant; unclear messages, scattered signs and banners or visuals absent altogether?
Ever wonder why some pics just die there while others seem to jump off the page or screen? Or why some videos, even short ones, are so monotonous, but others grab, move or inspire you so much that you can't wait to go viral and watch'm again?
Founder of the environmental/social justice, volunteer activist/emergency advocacy group, ecoSanity.org, and 15-year veteran of Toronto's film/TV production industry, Glenn MacIntosh, will share essential trade secrets to help make the most of YOUR activism with bold visuals that pack a punch and offer the greatest potential for 'afterlife'.
"At ecoSanity, we place at least as much value in how a mobilization will live on and be perceived after it's over, as we do on what actually happens the day of and how well -- or not so well ;-) -- things go. With so much at stake and so little time to translate emergency solutions into global reality, we can't afford to be ignorable." ~ Glenn MacIntosh
Informed by famous/classic/pop culture/grassroots examples and eco-S originals for critique throughout, topics will include:
- eco-S/climate emergency background/overview/observations
- What visuals compel & what don't?
- Message conception & communication tips
- Momentum & structure
- Sign & banner basics
- Tips to plan & stage effective visuals based on common scenarios
- Techniques/tips to snap effective stills
- Techniques/tips to shoot dynamic video
- Techniques/tips to edit/make the most out of your material
- Call to emergency action!
From conception to presentation; the capture of key moments to their enhancement after the fact, Glenn will guide you through the basics and impart some seasoned gems that are guaranteed to enrich your next activity's impact and potential.
Don't miss this fun, informative, interactive session to better image YOUR activism!
