on a grand scale.
SO WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
Based in Toronto, Canada, ecoSanity.org aims to fill an essential niche that larger, more bureaucratic or exclusively research and advocacy-based Canadian organizations can't or don't.
- Our focus is specific to the urgent global emergency and social injustices posed by climate change
- We advocate for immediate, dramatic, science and solution-based emergency action worldwide, rather than "...climate policy characterized by the habituation of low expectations and a culture of failure." - Climate Code Red
- We work to mobilize large numbers of volunteers to participate in public events and protests
- We carry out peaceful, 'non-violent, direct action' when appropriate and speak hard, loud, undiluted truth to power with visible passion and urgency
- We target and prioritize high profile media opportunities, and expose or promote the most important or influential local, national and international voices
- We are especially flexible and independent, which allows us to have a rapid response
- We present at, and seek, major speaking opportunities - shows, festivals, shools, events, rallies and protests
- We work with and compliment other organizations, attend events they aren't able to and take action when they can't
- We participate in - and sometimes offer facilitation services to - a larger coalition of individuals and organizations
- We document and post our activities in the form of high production value videos and stills
- We offer video/stills services for hire and, on occasion, our personal volunteer participation, services and support
- We only correspond electronically, person-to-person or by phone - no paper mail and minimal paper info
HOW WILL MY MONEY BE USED?
Your contribution(s) will enable us to plan, finance and mobilize more - and larger - public actions and protests, expand our growing activist community of Green Defenders (volunteers), enhance the content and interactivity of our website and afford essential materials, resources and personnel.

Under Canadian law, environmental advocacy and activism are not recognized within charitable status guidelines. We are in the process of transitioning into a not-for-profit (NPO) organization. At present, we are unable to issue tax receipts.
